ELM World creates a space for people who want to develop local communities and work together across borders.
From an idea to shared action
The starting point is a conversation about needs, shared goals and ways of working together. This can lead to workshops, gardens, meeting places, educational activities or homes close to nature.
A network that supports independence
Private communication tools can help communities plan activities and share knowledge. Each initiative keeps its own character; land, construction and organisational questions need individual assessment.
A network of independent homesteads
We want to connect existing settlements, eco villages and homesteads, including those partly off grid, in a network of mutual support. People can exchange experience in growing food, building, energy, water, education and everyday community life. We also welcome those planning new places around similar values: care for the environment, cooperation and living close to nature. Each community decides how independent it wants to be and how people can take part.
